Jeanette Edwards

 

Jeanette Edwards is Professor of Social Anthropology at Manchester University (UK). She has carried out extensive ethnographic fieldwork in the north of England and has published widely on kinship, new reproductive technologies and the “public understanding of science”. She is the author of Born and Bred: Idioms of Kinship and New Reproductive Technologies  in England (Oxford, 2000), co-author Technologies of Procreation: Kinship in the Age of Assisted Conception (Manchester, 1993), and co-editor Technologized Images, Technologized Bodies (Berghahn, 2010), European Cultures of Kinship in the Age of Biotechnology (Berghahn, 2009).
